Predictability of ceramic dental implantsMore and more patients are asking for metal free dental implants and restorations, yet many practitioners do not offer this option. Due to the difference in the ceramic properties as compared to titanium, handling of these implants during placement and restoration requires a different technique than titanium. ISQ values can be used predictably on ceramic implants to determine stability. This webinar is designed for practitioners who want to understand when to recommend, how to use, avoid complications and maintain the ceramic implants.
This webinar is designed for practitioners who want to understand when to recommend, how to use, avoid complications and maintain the ceramic implants.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the ceramic dental implant history, composition, properties, and available research.
- Learn the ISQ use in clinical practice
- Be familiar with the surgical and prosthetic components of ceramic implants.
- Know which patients will do better with ceramic than titanium implant option
- Learn that immediate temporization is possible for ceramic implants when using the ISQ measurements.

Thankyou! Greetings from Pakistan!
Thank you! Great lecture.
Have you ever used Osseodensification (Densah drills) procedures with ceramic implants and if so, did you have to modify your procedure (ie. no bone tap)?
Have you seen stripping of the carbon fiber screw heads?
Thank you for a great lecture!
Thanks for this useful info!
Titanium implants are actually titanium dioxide. If these Ti oxides can disassociate into free metal ions, why should we believe that zirconium dioxide will not behave similarly, disassociating over time and releasing metal zirconium ions into patients’ immunologically-sensitive tissues?
Does the alumina in these implants ionize? Specially with the link to Alzheimer?
Do you prefer ceramic implants for all patients with thin biotype?
Is there a large cost difference in ceramic implants vs titanium implants?
do ceramic implants have a similar ISQ “dip” around the 3-4 week mark as titanium implants ?
Are night guards always worn or only with bruxers?
Can titanium screws be used with your ceramic implants? I am not convinced that carbon fiber screws will hold up in the long term.
maybe I missed this: Can we utilize a screw retained crown/zirconia abutment combination?
Hi from Brazil. Congratulations for the excelente speach. Should we wait for more data in implants ceramic
What was the isq of the fractured ceramic implants you showed?
can the dentist or the lab technician “customize” a stock zirconia abutment?

What number peg do we use for the Zeramex xt?
Do you share information about ISQ measurements with your referring dentists and patients? If so, what and how?
Do you use zirconia for all patients? What is your selection criteria?
What has been the biggest benefit for your clinical outcomes in using Osstell ISQ for your implant cases?
what kind of patients are ceramic better suited for?
Is there a significant amount of time required to take the Osstell ISQ Measurements?
Have you observed similar ISQ values on ceramic implants as those taken on titanium implants?
What have Osstell ISQ values done for you to improve predictability in ceramic dental implant treatments?
Hi from Santiago de Chile!
